Overview
I.C.Touring is a web application offering a unique experience of a guided tour of the Castle of Ioannina. People taking part in it, do not just get informed about every monument in the Castle of Ioannina, but travel back in time and meet with the inhabitants of the castle.
Via the tablets guests acquire, they have access to digital material (photographs, videos) which creates room for dialogue during the tour.
We developed the web application, based on wapp's content management system. The I.C.Touring application contains information on the momuments and sights of the Castle, which are displayed on an interactive map by Google Maps. Plenty of photographs, historical data and the actual location of each monument are provided through a user-friendly interface to visitors.
The development of the web application was based on responsive web design technologies, so that the website can adapt on different screen sizes of mobile phones, tablets, notebook and desktop computers. This way all website visitors have the same user experience, regardless of how they access it.
